Charity Fashion Show
Murphy’s Fashion Show
Gillian Murphy Prendergast, owner and proprietor or Murphy’s Pub Rathmines, wanted to create a community focused event that help connect local businesses. To produce a fun and exciting event that helped support a charity partner. Plus, she wanted to put together an event that would create more exposure for her business, especially with women in the local area.
The Dublin 6 Fashion Show was born, with the unbelievable support of well-known Tv presenter and CEO of Parentlime Aileen Hickey, who could see this vision. Aileen formed a committee of woman from all different areas, all bringing something unique to the table.
It just worked from the start. The job got done as efficiently as possible meaning that moneys raised were given to the chosen charities keeping costs as low as possible.
Fashion Show Success
The event has proven to be a great success. MC Brendan Courtney owns the room and draws the attention of the ladies the moment he speaks.
Each year Murphy’s Pub is transformed into a fashion house with catwalk, professional models and fantastic clothes from an array of local designers and fashion retailers. Welcome drinks are poured. Goodies bags prepared and the stage is set for a brilliant event.
We also love working with local businesses as it helps create a sense of community. The event provides a brilliant opportunity for fashion retailers and buyers to connect. Local businesses should encourage and support each other, this event helps foster this.
Over the years the event has grown in popularity and demand. The committee is looking forward to the next event which we are sure will be a huge hit.
Murphy’s is open to considering any event idea so please get in contact with the team.
